BEVERLY HILLS, CA — A free concert series at Beverly Canon Gardens kicks off Thursday with the music of Mostly Kosher, a Klezmer rock band. Thursday's concert, which will feature reconstructed Judaic and American cultural music, will launch a summer full of concerts at 241 North Canon Drive. Mostly Kosher will take the stage Thursday at 6 p.m. for a 45 minute set and again for a second set at 7:15. The event is co-hosted by the Skirball Cultural Center. "Mostly Kosher is a musical feast that explodes into a global food-fight of Jazz, Latin, Rock, and Folk," according to the city of Beverly Hills. Tables and chairs are given out on a first-come, first-served basis but attendees can also bring blankets to sit on the grass. Residents can pack picnic food or purchase from neighboring restaurants. The concerts will continue every Thursday at 6 p.m. through August 25. Check out some of the upcoming musicians: June 16 – Soulfulofnoise: Los Angeles-based musicians focused on "Good Music & Good Vibes" and community healing. June 23 – Brasil Brazil: Brazilian music duo Ana Gazzola and Sonia Santos will create an "uplifting experience," according to the city. June 30 – Smokin' Cobras: A chronological tour of AM radios top hits, creating a dance party atmosphere.July 7 – Upstream: Caribbean music focused on spreading love and positivity.July 14 – Rod Lightning & The Thunderbolts of Love: Classic rock and roll group featuring hits from Tom Petty, Rolling Stones, Beatles and more. July 21 – The Kings of 88: Featuring the music of Billy Joel, Elton John, The Beatles and more. July 28 – Adelaide: Los Angeles-based musician from Texas. Adelaide Pilar will play the trumpet and sing. August 4 – Katalyst: Nine-piece experimental contemporary jazz group. This concert is cohosted with KJAZZ 88.1.August 11 – The Fabulous Yachtsman: Yacht-Rock band playing 70s and 80s hits.
