Press release from the City of Fargo: May 31, At the Fargo Public Library, Summer Storytime will be offered Tuesdays from June 7 through July 26 at the Main Library and Wednesdays June 8 through July 27 at the Carlson Library. Storytime is an opportunity for families to spend quality time together sharing stories, learning school-readiness skills and preparing for a lifelong love of reading. All storytimes are open to children ages 2 to 6. There will be Free Friday Family Movies at the Carlson Library June 10 through August 19. The Library will have a booth at the upcoming Midwest Kid Fest June 10th and hosted by the Fargo Parks Department at Island Park. Librarians from Children's Services will attend to spread the word about the Library's literacy resources and the Summer Reading Challenge. The City is seeking proposals from local artists for new artwork for the panels on the exterior of Fargo's City Hall Commission Chambers. The theme for the art is "Fargo: Past, Present and Future." The City and its Arts and Culture Commission encourage local artists, culture bearers and other creatives to participate in opportunities to enhance the City's quality of life and integrate public art into public spaces. More information about the Request for Proposal is on the City's website. The deadline for proposals is Monday, June 20 at 4 p.m. Tonight, we have a short video that takes us behind-the-scenes with the Fargo Forestry Team as they celebrated Arbor Day 2022 and being designated as a Tree City USA.
