UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — It is an Upper West Side coffee takeover! Just one month after opening its second UWS location, Blank Street Coffee will open its third neighborhood location on Friday, a spokesperson from the company confirmed to Patch. The new outpost will be at 2345 Broadway, between West 85th and 86th streets. The location will join nearby ones at 190 Columbus Ave. (between West 68th and 69th streets) and at the corner of West 79th Street and Broadway. According to ILoveTheUpperWestSide, which was the first publication to report on the new UWS opening, Blank Street has opened seven new locations since the end of April — bringing its total across the city to 39. The rapid growth is made possible in part by a chunk of its locations operating out of mobile coffee carts. The other spots, like the Upper West Side locations, operate out of micro-footprint brick-and-mortar spaces. In October 2021, Blank Street announced a $25 million investment by General Catalyst and Tiger Global into the company to help its rapid retail expansion. Its goal is to open 100 locations throughout New York City by the end of 2022. Its menu at the already opened two Upper West Side locations includes all types of coffee, baked goods (including gluten-free options), breakfast tacos, and special seasonal drinks depending on when you visit. You can find out more about Blank Street on its website.
