FULTON COUNTY, GA — Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis says she's been taking extra measures to keep her and her family safe after receiving death threats.
WSB-TV spoke with Willis, who shared that since the racketeering indictment involving Atlanta rappers Young Thug, Gunna, and alleged members of the Young Slime Life Gang, as well as the creation of a special grand jury to investigate Georgia's 2020 election, the threats have become an issue.
Between YSL fans and Trump supporters, Willis told WSB that the threats have dramatically increased to the point she takes extra precautions and has ramped up security.
"I'm much more cautious than I've ever been in my life, paying more attention to my surroundings" Willis said. "It's required for me to stay alive."
One suspect has shared instructions about how people can find her home with publicly-available information if they want to harm her, reported WSB.
There is now a collaborative effort between the City of South Fulton, the Atlanta Police Department, the Fulton County Police Department and the Fulton County Sheriff's Office to make sure that they are all informed and to make sure they are all taking part in Willis' security details, reported WSB.
