We are a small but growing shop building high-quality garden structures called Obelisks. They are a four-sided trellis rapidly growing in demand by passionate gardeners, and gardening has become one of our country's fastest growing hobbies. We are the only company using redwood to build the finest quality obelisks in North America and they require a lot of patience and care in their construction. We have been shipping all over the country for about a year and recognize the need for training people that want either a permanent part-time job or who would be looking forward to a full-time career with us. Some experience with woodworking is preferred, and attention to detail is a must, but we will train the right person as needed. Starting with about 20 hours per week for part-time, 40 hours for full-time. Manufacturing steps include finding and carefully ripping boards in a variety of dimensions; power sanding; organizing for the critical drilling process and later learning how the drilling is done; prepping for painting; assisting in the painting process; and finally breaking down and packaging the pieces for delivery. Woodworking is a growing and enjoyable job skill. Our shop is conveniently located off of Hwy 60 in Apache Junction, work is indoors with air conditioning and hours can be somewhat flexible with overtime possible. Pay will depend on experience but starting at $17/hour at training level.
