Part-time Weekend Furniture Delivery

Responsible for loading and unloading the delivery trailer, installing furniture according to the directions received, and assembling items at the customer site. Preparing the job site and clean-up after installation is required. While not required, previous carpentry work or experience using hand and power tools is a plus. No driving is required, a team leader will perform all the driving and interact with the customers on set up and final payment. Deliveries are performed on the weekends and a typical workload is approximately 10-20 hours per weekend. The responsibilities for this position are: • Delivery and set-up of furniture in customer's home, removing old furniture when/if necessary. • Load and unload of delivery vehicle prior to delivery and set up at customer’s home. • Assemble furniture as needed for example attaching table legs to tabletop, attaching bed rails to bed headboard and footboard, etc. • Installation of protective pads on furniture may be required when installing at the customer’s home. • May inspect the merchandise prior to loading/delivery. • Must be able to follow oral and written instructions. • Prep and clean the job site • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. • Heavy lifting required – up to 90 pounds individually. May be required to carry heavy merchandise upstairs. • Must maintain professional personal appearance. Refreshments: Bottled water will be provided Meal: Lunch will be provided. The crew stops for a lunch break at a local restaurant.
