This intergenerational event celebrates freedom and spotlights the African American experience with live musical performances, dance, gallery talks on art by African American artists, storytelling, and art-making activities. Featuring: • MC Wayne Perry, aka Mr. Trombone • Kickoff performance by Faith’s Place Dancers, Marching Band, and Drumline • Miami-based DJ ReRe • Artist Lounge with Anthony Burks, Tracy Guiteau, Arielle Charis, and more • Storytelling and music with Soda Pop • Black-Owned Business Pop-Ups including Kianga Art/African Treasures, All About Us, The Gift Genie, Helen’s Fire Sauce, and Royal Healings • African Dance with Ericka Squire • Live Hip Hop music by recording artist Von Archer • Art-making Workshops with Dorotha Grace Lemeh and Jasmine Nichole • Opening of the Afterschool Arts Outreach Student Exhibition, We Made It! • Spotlight talks by Brian Knowles, Trina Slade-Burks, Anthony Burks Sr., and Shawn Henderson • Poetry reading by Jashua Sa-Ra • Closing performance by Sunshine Junkanoo Band Food and Refreshments Enjoy small bites and refreshments in the Great Hall or dine in The Restaurant from 11AM-3PM.
