It’s time for our second Beer Can Derby race of 2022! With June being LGBTQ+ Pride Month, we have partnered with Sun King brewing to bring you a special Pride-themed edition. What’s a Beer Can Derby you ask? It’s a competition in which participants construct a pinewood derby-style race car using a beer can (in this case, a Sun King Brewery beer can!) instead of the traditional plank of wood. You will design and construct a car with the materials provided and race against fellow competitors for a chance to win a sweet Sun King prize pack! Registration will be $15 and includes: your first Sun King beer (you will use the empty can in your car design), a set of wheels and axles, and all the materials you will need to decorate and design your beer can race car. Each can car must pass inspection by the official inspection committee before it will be allowed to compete. Once inspection has been passed, you'll be given a race time. All competing racecars must be built on site! "If you ain't first, you're last." Not true! We'll also be awarding a prize for Most Creative Design.
