South Florida Chamber Ensemble (SFCE) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of South Florida residents through music. The group formed in 2011 when the Art Trio and the New York Wind Trio merged. The vision of the ensemble is to use music as a catalyst for change with respect to education, social justice, economic equality, and health and healing.
SFCE presents iLUMA (Inter-generational Literacy Using Music and Art) at Coral Gables Museum during Family Day. iLUMA is an arts integration that pairs art, music, world culture, and literature to improve reading comprehension.
Since 1949, the Ukrainian Dancers of Miami have preserved and promoted Ukraine’s culture through traditional music and dance performances. Composed of about 40 Ukrainian-born and Ukrainian-Americans, the ensemble showcases traditional Avramenko dances as well as contemporary choreographed pieces. The dance troupe performs year-round in South Florida at festivals, cultural programs, and schools, and have performed across the state at venues such as EPCOT’s World Showcase in Walt Disney World and Orlando ArtsFest. The Ukrainian Dancers of Miami are committed to educating others in the traditions of their ethnic heritage and keeping alive the legacy of Ukrainian dance.
