Retired Service Dog – needs a new home

Olive is one of a kind. Her temperament is calm and relaxed. Sleeping is her superpower, but she loves attention and playing with other dogs. Super low energy and easy-going, she is a beautiful black with white spots Staffordshire Terrier. She loves giving cuddles and big hugs. She has been working as a service dog for five years. She is about seven years old and has a very interesting and uplifting backstory. She is trained to detect physical and psychological distress well before most humans and alert her owner that something is wrong. She would do great helping someone with depression, bipolar, autism, PTSD, or severe physical pain. She can also provide deep pressure therapy to help calm people in distress/pain. A lot of work is needed to switch her to a new owner if they want her to be a full-blown service dog. She does great for me at restaurants, flights, board meetings, and stores. That doesn’t mean she will act the same way with someone she hasn’t bonded with or doesn’t know how to be the leader in the relationship. Why does she need a new home? She has many food allergies and is struggling to live in a house with four busy food mess maker children. She has an allergic reaction whenever someone leaves something out for her to get into. I have used her less and less over the last year and a half because her allergies are progressively worsening. She can’t focus on me if she is miserable herself. The most likely culprits are chicken, bread, and lamb. She has a special food that seems to be doing well for her, and it is not very expensive since it is not a prescription food. She is looking for a loving home to a family with lots of love and attention to share. She will be greatly missed. The $500.00 re-homing fee is optional based on your circumstances. However, you will be interviewed thoroughly, so be prepared. If you need equipment like kennels (travel, home, or back of car), service dog vests, dog beds, bowls, or toys, this is negotiable.
