A first of its' kind here in Northeast Ohio bus tour to the Motor City. On our Fight To Freedom Julius Caesar Tibbs, a slave who escaped a plantation from Virginia recounts how Bedford, Ohio was a part of the Underground Railroad. His story begins when he was found asleep in a hollow tree in what is now known as Downtown Bedford. He was hidden, given food and a place to stay by the owner an abolitionist Joseph Burns and his family. On our travels we will be enlightened about the Atlantic slave trade, Harriet Tubman's heroic missions, Civil Rights Movement, the Funk Brothers & the Legends of Motown leading up to the 44th President being signed, sealed and delivered to the White House and more...
Itinerary
Depart: Bedford, City Hall 165 Center Rd. Bedford, Ohio 44146 (approx.7am) *must board bus by 6:30am.
1st Stop: Underground Railroad Living Museum Experience/Historic First Congregational Church of Detroit *(lunch will be prepared by and served at HFCCD).
2nd Stop: Guided Driving tour of the Motown Museum.
3rd Stop: Guided Driving tour of Motown's Legend's childhood homes.
4th Stop: Shopping at the Motown Museum Gift Sore.
Depart back to Cleveland, OH. (approx. 6pm)
