The Outlet for the Arts Presents: Calendula, Adelaide Punkin and Laurel Joy on Saturday June, 25 2022!! Calendula is a singer-songwriter based in Connecticut. Her nostalgia for past homes, daydreamed futures, and distant loved-ones fuels her folk-inspired melodies. She began writing as Calendula in 2019, and released her first EP in 2020. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Phil Ochs and Buffy Sainte-Marie, her new album, Loveletter, focuses on social class and climate justice in hopes of inspiring positive change in her community. Adelaide is a pint sized force to be reckoned with! She is already a regular on the Southern New England music scene, Busking and performing since she was 6yo. She was encouraged & mentored by local musicians to become a professional performer by 10yo. With hundreds of live appearances she is now one of the must see acts in the North East. Featured performer opening night 2022 at Tbe Big E… and performing all over CT, MA, RI, NY and PA. You can find her busking the streets of her home town of Torrington CT and touring with her band Something Simple to promote the mission of Rock Yer Block: Musicians For Brain Injury Awareness. Laurel Joy is a songwriter, pianist and multi instrumentalist. Her music is Blues, Rock, & Soul focused, sometimes even described as “quirky blues”. She is a story teller that adds in a personal and raw feel to her lyrics and performance. Many of Her songs explore the darker sides of life with an emphasis on self help and womanhood, including “Darlene” and “Good Company”. Doors Open at 7pm! Music starts at 7:30pm!
