Fix Auto- Stockton (formerly Aurora Collision Center) is a full-service auto body repair facility that has been serving the San Joaquin area since 1944! We are looking for 2 experienced Auto Body Technicians to join our growing team. The successful Tech will be someone who is able to multi-task, be punctual, be detail-oriented, and excels at working in a fast-paced environment. Description • Repair vehicles safely and thoroughly in a manner consistent with industry guidelines and standards • Complete disassembly of vehicles in order to assist our Estimators in preparing a thorough repair plan • Ensure all needed repairs have been identified up front to eliminate supplements and to minimize the repair time • Operate a variety of hand and power tools (e.g., welder, soldering equipment, cutting torch, blocks, hammers, wrenches, sander, spray guns, etc.) • Remove and mend damaged body and fenders by hammering out or filling in dents and welding broken parts; ensure all gaps and fits are to industry standards • File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces before turning vehicle over to the Paint department • Reassemble vehicles after parts have been painted; ensuring all gaps and fills are to industry standards • Inspect and test drive repaired vehicles to ensure safety and quality standards Working Conditions The Auto Body Technician will be based in the shop of the collision repair center. Daily physical activities consist of: • Reaching below and above shoulder level • Kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping • Lifting and carrying objects over 50 pounds • Sitting and standing for extended periods of time The work environment consists of: • Exposure to fumes, chemicals and dust • Exposure to moving mechanical machinery and parts • High levels of noise • Subjectivity to weather conditions Key Qualifications • Must be over 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license • 5+ years’ experience as an auto body technician in a collision repair facility • Effective verbal and written communication • Ability to read and understand instructions, written estimates, and work orders • Fun, personable, customer-service focus • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills • Great time management • Easily adaptable in fast-paced environments To apply, please email your resume to [email protected].
