Mark your calendars! Thursday June 16th from 3-5pm! The Color, the Culture, the Food, the WOW of OAXACA! Join Just Create Community and beloved local artist Maggie Pike at restaurant LA Mixteca Oaxaca to hear about Maggie’s recent trip to Oaxaca, see and experience her extraordinary photos and the beautiful Oaxacan-inspired pottery she has created since her return. Learn from La Mixteca Oaxaca owners Lucia & Jose about the extraordinary Oaxacan history, culture, and food. And together let’s sit down to enjoy an early-bird dinner from La Mixteca’s delicious Oaxacan menu. Lucia will take us through the many uniquely Oaxacan items on the menu and perhaps let us sample of few of the most renowned Oaxacan dishes. La Mixteca Oaxaca has two locations: we will be at their larger space at 1050 SE Walnut St. Event is free but registration required to give La Mixteca an approximate headcount for the dinner reservation. Artist Maggie Pike, well-known from her previous long-running business “Maggie’s Buns” in Forest Grove, will have her Oaxacan-inspired pottery for sale at the event. Hosted and organized by Cindy Cosenzo of Just Create Community, LLC ... teacher, connector, amplifier, and reminder of everything that creates community, belonging, and connection.
