As an Irrigation Technician, you will: * Plan, organize, and support the operation and maintenance of campus landscape irrigation systems, including all new construction and renovation projects. * Safely operate and maintain equipment and machinery. * Train other staff and students and monitor and provide feedback on work performed.  * Participate in planning and in removal of snow and ice in assigned zones and elsewhere on campus. * Maintain logs and records and schedule work. * Collaborate with the Manager, Assistant Managers, and other crews as needed. What you bring to the position (minimum qualifications): * High School diploma or equivalent experience. * Experience in landscape construction or irrigation. * Knowledge or experience with commercial irrigation systems. * Basic plumbing and electrical skills. * Ability to interpret and comply with plumbing and electrical codes and standard installation and maintenance techniques according to manufacturer specifications. * Ability to safely operate and maintain job related equipment and vehicles. * Good judgment making decisions, working around moving machinery and electricity, asking for help, bringing forward problems, and communicating with others. * Available for irrigation and weather emergencies. * Valid driver’s license and able to meet University driver eligibility requirements with the ability to frequently travel to various work areas.
