Tamara Murphy is a classically trained stage performer in mezzo soprano voice, a music director, and a mother. She shares her gift with various audiences locally, nationally, and abroad. owes her success to her parents, the late Pastor Robert and Mrs. Deloris Murphy. She lives in Dallas, Texas with her daughter and love, Jillian. She presently serves as the director of music at the Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church where Leslie H. Booker is the pastor.
Ms. Murphy is a graduate of the renowned Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, Texas. There she was trained by Mrs. Gayle Washington Tyler. As a student performer at Dillard University, Tamara studied under Dr. Valerie Francis. Tamara has graced stages in New York at Carnegie Hall and in New Orleans. With the New Orleans Opera Chorus, she performed Aida and Porgy and Bess.
Tamara Murphy is a versatile performer, having enchanted audiences with her stirring renditions of jazz, soul, gospel, rhythm and blues, and classical music. Her voice is a vehicle that transports the listener into other worlds
