NEW YORK CITY — Rush hour delays hit at several subway lines Thursday morning, according to the MTA. Most delays were resolved by 8:30 a.m., but active alerts remained for the 2/3, 4, F and M lines. A police investigation at Second Avenue slowed southbound F trains, the MTA posted at 8:07 a.m. M trains ran with delays entering and leaving Middle Village-Metropolitan Avenue because of a switch, problem, according to an 8:20 a.m. post. Northbound 2/3 trains ran with delays after crews removed a car that needed cleaning at 96th Street, the MTA posted at 8:33 a.m. Delays hit southbound 4 trains after a straphanger needed medical assistance at Fordham Road, the MTA posted at 8:38 a.m. Previous delays that were resolved earlier included another police investigation, this time at Nevins Street that affected northbound 4/5 trains, according to the MTA. And a fallen tree near Avenue M caused delays for southbound Q trains, the MTA tweeted.
