My name is Kayla Peden and I am a sophomore at Rice University. This summer, I am interning with Houston ReVision, a nonprofit that works to support youth in the Houston community that are at risk of entering the criminal justice system or who are just in need of general assistance. We are hosting a three week college-readiness program for many of these youth in hopes of guiding them down the correct path and have a list of guest speakers lined up from different colleges in the area. We want to show these teens that college is not only possible but affordable! We want to have as many kids show up as possible. They can be any age, grade level level, etc. Our goal is to just serve as a helping hand to those who need it. Parents are welcome to come as well. Everything is completely free. Students may sign up for 1v1 appointments as well, but everyone is encouraged to come and check out the info session!
