NORTH PORT, FL — A Port Charlotte woman faces 22 felony charges for using her dead husband's contractor license to take on construction work in the Wellen Area, according to a news release from North Port police. Doreen Heneault, 63, was charged with 11 counts of unlawful filing of false documents or records and 11 counts of uttering a forged instrument. She's accused of filing permits to do construction without a license, filing documents with forged signatures and using a notary stamp improperly, attempting to defraud the state, police said. Doreen Heneault of Port Charlotte faces 22 felony charges. (North Port Police)Heneault continued to conduct business using her deceased husband's contractor license, "well after he had passed," NPPD said. She also filed documents knowing signatures were forged and used a notary stamp from a former employee that she is not licensed to use. She was arrested Monday in Charlotte County and has bonded out of jail, police said.
