Press release from the Fox Cities Chamber: June 8, 2022 Community First Credit Union is pleased to announce that Barbara Berken has joined the credit union as Senior Vice President of Branch & Contact Center Operations. A passionate 20-year credit union veteran, Berken assumes responsibility for Community First's 25 full-service branches and its Member Contact Center. She most recently served two years as Chief Operations Officer for Prospera Credit Union. Early in her career, she earned several commendations while serving eight years in the U.S. Army Reserves. After graduating from UW-Whitewater, Berken began her financial career with Citibank in the Chicago area until she made the move into the credit union industry and never left. From 2002-2015, she was CEO of Educational Employees Credit Union. After its 2015 merger with Summit Credit Union, Berken served as Internal Audit and Compliance Manager at Summit until 2018 when she joined Prospera as Vice President of Operations. Community First Credit Union is a member-owned financial cooperative with $5.1 billion in assets and 25 full-service branches.
