KING GEORGE, VA — A man from King George County won a $5 million top prize from the Virginia Lottery, officials announced this week. The man, Dennis Rector, won the jackpot in the $5,000,000 Ultimate game. Rector purchased his winning ticket at the Sheetz at 8206 Kings Highway in King George. When he realized he won, Rector called his wife before anything else. "She said to get home safely," he told Lottery officials. But the rush of the win was still coursing through his veins. "My hands were shaking," Rector said. Rector had the option of $5 million divided over the course of 30 years or a one-time cash pay-out of $3,201,024. He chose the cash prize. The Sheetz store on Kings Highway is also a winner. The facility will received $10,000 from the Virginia Lottery as a bonus for selling the winning ticket.
