Description
ARLINGTON, VA — The Arlington County Police Department will be celebrating National Night Out events on Aug. 2 as part of a national effort to promotes police partnerships with neighborhoods in the jurisdictions where they serve.
From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Aug. 2, residents across Arlington are asked to turn on their porch lights, lock their doors and spend the evening outside with their neighbors, police officers, firefighters and other county personnel.
Registration is free and provides police officers and Arlington County leaders and other representatives an opportunity to attend events. Residents should register by Friday, July 22. Police cannot guarantee attendance at events registered after the deadline.
Outdoor events on Aug. 2 hosted by neighborhood group and businesses will likely include cookouts, block parties and ice cream socials will occur that night, according to the ACPD.
