NEW LONDON, CT — A man is facing gun charges, according to police. Monolito Johnson, 23, of New London, was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit and weapons in a motor vehicle. He posted $20,000 bond and will appear at Superior Court in New London on June 21. According to police, the arrest was made while officers were assigned to a quality of life initiative to reduce violent crime. Johnson was arrested on weapons charges after a motor vehicle stop. Police claim Johnson had a loaded 9 mm semi-automatic handgun and ammunition.
