PRINCETON, NJ - On Saturday, the Coalition for Peace Action will be hosting a March for Our Lives rally against mass shootings and gun violence in America. The rally will begin at 4 p.m. at Hinds Plaza.
The rally is being held as part of the nationwide March for Our Lives events on Saturday demanding action against gun violence.
Events will be held across nearly 500 cities coordinated by March for Our Lives — the gun violence prevention group formed after the mass shooting in Parkland, FL.
Confirmed speakers at the Princeton rally include Sen. Andrew Zwicker; Dolores Phillips, Legislative Director, CFPA's Ceasefire NJ Project; Teska Frisbee, Mercer County Gun Violence Prevention Lead for Moms Demand Action; Rabbi Arnold Gluck, Temple Beth-El, Hillsborough, Rev. Robert Moore, Executive Director, Coalition for Peace Action (CFPA); Sue Repko, Gun Violence Survivor; Laura Zurfluh, Coordinator, Indivisible Cranbury and a performance by Sharleen Leahey, musician.
There will be a 3 p.m. poster-making gathering at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Princeton, Princeton. Free parking is available next to the church. Attendees may ride together to the rally after making their posters.
The CFPA is also pushing for stronger action on gun laws by asking residents to support a new package of gun violence prevention laws in the NJ legislature.
" We are again working closely with Governor Murphy and state legislative leaders to pass this new package NOW, before the expected surge of gun violence as the warmer weather arrives," Rev. Robert Moore said in a statement. Click here to learn how to take action.
