Golden was on the Monmouth County Republican Organization line; Rich was on the America First Republicans line. No Democrat had filed a petition for sheriff. As of Wednesday afternoon, Golden received 23,068 votes; Rich received 11,428. For the two, three-year terms on the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners, Daniel Francisco and Steven L. Rich, America First Republicans, challenged incumbents Thomas "Tom" Arnone and Dominick "Nick" DiRocco, both supported by the Monmouth County Republican Organization. Unofficial vote totals in that race were: Arnone, 22,962; DiRocco, 22,246; Francisco, 11,251 and Steven L. Rich, 11,403. Democratic candidates Kristal Dias and Bonnie Kass-Viola, both on the Monmouth County Democrats line, were running unopposed in the Democratic primary for county commissioner. All votes are unofficial until they are certified later in June as the final official results by the Monmouth County Clerk's office. The Republican and Democratic nominees will now run in the Nov. 8 general election.
