FREEHOLD, N.J.— St. Rose of Lima School, a Catholic school in the borough, will reopen Tuesday, June 7, after the school was closed Monday to investigate a social media post made over the weekend. Out of an "abundance of caution," the school stayed closed Monday, said police department spokesman Capt. Ronnie Steppat. He said the threatening social media post was fully investigated by police "to its end" and was found to have no credibility. Rayanne Bennett, spokesperson for the Diocese of Trenton, said the diocese did not have specific information about the post, but that the school notified the police regarding it. She said school officials said they expect to share more information with parents. St. Rose of Lima School, founded in 1875, was the first Catholic parochial school in Monmouth County, the school's website says. Public schools were open as usual, police said.
