German shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix needs home. (At Risk) Lovely and beautiful Hazel, is a seven year old shepherd mix. We picked her out of a litter of ten when she was just eight weeks old. She has had no other family but us and has received lots of love. She has been around older kids in the home. About Hazel: She has EPI that requires enzymes added to her food. Other than that, she is healthy as can be. She is a loving dog that warms up to you but not at first due to stranger danger. Once she checks you out, and likes you, it’s all good. Anyone that knows this breed, knows that is their nature. She is super smart and an excellent guard dog. She knows and follows commands, walks well on a leash, gets along with other dogs at the dog park and at home. She resides with another dog that is a pug and they get along great., it’s so cute to watch them cuddle. She has no bone, food or toy issues. She has been spayed, and completely caught up on all of her vaccinations. She is loyal, she spends most of her Days running in and out of her doggie door, playing with her toys and the Pug, fetching balls, going for a walks or car ride to the doggie park or just lying around. She is a great companion and she will lay right by your feet, Protecting you from any harm! The situation: Currently, She lives with owner who is 78 years old, it is very difficult situation because it is not easy for elderly owner to care for this 80 pound Dog. Unforeseen Circumstances is forcing her to relocate soon because of medical issues and won’t have the space for Hazel. Due to Hazel’s health issue (EPI) requiring enzymes, and her stranger danger, the shelter will most likely euthanize her and most rescues are full. She has a lot of life in her. The potential home/adopters: We are looking to rehome her to someone who absolutely knows this breed, preferably no small children or cats. Other dogs ok. Anyone living on a ranch or some acreage would be the perfect place for a dog like Hazel. However, she will take a small yard and a Couch if that is all you have!!! Adoption fee is requested, but we will supply 6 months of the enzymes. ( enzymes are not an RX, can order directly from website, inexpensive)
