MISSION VIEJO, CA — South Orange County residents will join cancer survivors and caregivers this Saturday in a day of education, entertainment and remembrance.
The annual Relay For Life of South Orange County takes place Saturday on the Village Green at Oso Viejo Community Park in Mission Viejo, a city news statement said.
The event will start at 1 p.m. with a ceremony and first lap meant to celebrate cancer survivors and caregivers. According to the statement, the event includes activities for all ages, educational booths, entertainment and a silent auction with includes golf, sports tickets and other items.
The night will close out with a luminaria ceremony, where hundreds of luminarias displaying the names and messages of those who passed due to cancer will be lit.
Residents who wish to register as a team, participant, cancer survivor or caregiver can visit the Relay For Life of South Orange County's website.
The event runs from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Oso Viejo Community Park, 24932 Veterans Way.
