Description

CONCORD, NH — Investigators have identified the owner-operator of an SUV captured on dashcams parked at the trailhead near where a retired Concord couple was found killed and have determined they have no connection to the case. The New Hampshire Attorney General's Office and Concord detectives, who have been working for seven weeks to find out who killed Stephen and Djeswende Reid, said Thursday that investigators determined the green Toyota RAV4, which was pictured at the Marsh Loop Trail parking lot on Portsmouth Street by Concord SAU 8 School District buses, was not connected to the case based on "contact with that individual and the follow-up investigation conducted." The Reids left their apartment at the Alton Woods complex on Loudon Road for a walk before 2:30 p.m. on April 18. Investigators believe the walk led them to the area of the Broken Ground Trails, between Portsmouth Street and South Curtisville Road. Investigators said that family and friends did not see or hear from them after that. The Reids' bodies were found near the Marsh Loop Trail three days later. Their deaths were determined to be homicides due to multiple gunshot wounds by the state medical examiner. Person Of Interest Still Sought Investigators are, however, still seeking to identify a person of interest depicted in the sketch released in May. The person of interest is described as a white man in his late 20s or early 30s, approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall, with a medium build, short brown hair, and clean-shaven. The man was seen wearing a dark blue jacket, possibly with a hood, and khaki-colored pants. He was carrying a black backpack. The man was seen in the vicinity of where the bodies were found on April 18. The Concord Regional Crimeline has previously announced it will facilitate a reward of up to $33,500 for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the person(s) responsible for the killings of Stephen and Djeswende Reid.
