Summer Readers are invited to dress in their pirate-y best and come to the library hear the tales of the pirate legends of the Gulf of Mexico! Roy Palmer, Curator of Education and Collections at GulfQuest National Maritime Museum of the Gulf of Mexico will be on hand to host some fascinating facts about local pirate lore. This program is structured for children 3rd -7th grade. Registration is required. Participants will experience the kind of interactive historical experience that GulfQuest Museum excels at: Learn about the World of the Golden age of Pirates Dive into the tales of Pirate raids and pirate myths Try your hand at Dead Reckoning and Historical Navigation as you attempt to find your way in the "Trades & Raids" map quest. The program will conclude will an open Q & A Participants who attend the program dressed as a pirate will be entered to win one(1) FREE FAMILY PASS to GulfQuest Maritime Museum of the Gulf of Mexico.
