JOLIET, IL — Joliet police are working with the FBI in hopes of solving Thursday morning's bank robbery in the Plainfield area at the Heartland Bank and Trust located at 5650 Caton Farm Road. The crime happened at 10:45 a.m. The criminal who entered the bank told the Heartland Bank's tellers he was committing a robbery, implying he had a knife with him, according to Joliet police. The robber stole a bunch of cash and got away before Joliet police officers showed up. The bank robber is described as a tall and slender white man who wore a dark hooded sweatshirt with a red logo, dark pants and dark shoes. He also wore a medical face mask to help conceal his identity, plus sunglasses and a pair of gloves, so he didn't leave any fingerprints. Joliet police say "this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community." Joliet Patch has left a message with Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English in hopes of tracking down photos of the bank robber. "I don't have any photos available to share at this time. This case is being investigated by the FBI," English replied. Patch will update this article if the bank robber's photos are available. So far, no arrests have been made.
