This tour series is generously sponsored by MotorCities Automotive Heritage Area. Although the Model T was famously produced off Woodward Avenue in Highland Park, the birthplace and ideation of the Model T happened right in Detroit's New Center and Milwaukee Junction neighborhoods. On this walking tour, we will experience the past, present and future of this iconic Detroit area, going back in time to learn about the Piquette Plant, Birthplace of the Model T, and speak with the innovators who now call these neighborhoods home. Highlights: ● Techtown ● College for Creative Studies Taubman Center for Design Education ● Cadillac Place ● Fisher Building ● Ford Piquette Avenue Plant Total Walking Distance = ~2 Weather Policy: Tours will occur indefinitely, rain or shine, unless a severe weather warning is issued by the national weather service on the date of the tour for the time of the tour. Weather related cancellation or ticket transfer requests will not be approved unless submitted at least 48 hours in advance of the event start time. If a severe weather warning or event causes the tour to be cancelled, City Institute will offer to transfer participant tickets to another date or provide a refund.
