Press release from the City of Roseville: June 8, 2022 It's safe to assume Rod Davies is one of Minnesota's oldest golfers. This week at Cedarholm Golf Course in Roseville, this longtime patron celebrated a very special birthday. Davies turned 100 years old this week, and he's been golfing for the majority of that time. Well, I've been golfing for 76 years, says Davies. "My intent to keep it up is, if I can-- if I'm able to-- that's really what it amounts to. The U.S. Marine Veteran can be seen weekly at the senior league, accompanied by his daughter or son to help as needed and make sure he stays safe. He's doing really well this year, says daughter Terrie McNulty. "Last year I worried about him falling over. He doesn't seem to be as wobbly this year, so it's actually better. Rod has been a member at Cedarholm for more than 50 years, and led his senior league as a board member for more than a decade. He says he doesn't have plans to quit anytime soon. Right now it's a struggle. It's good they can go with me, so I can do it. If I can't do it anymore I'll quit. There are very few people doing these things past 90. When asked about his secret to success, Rod had a very simple answer: There's no secret, you just hang in there!
