I live around the West El Camino/ Truxle area, and in my apartments is a dog that is badly neglected who lives by my mailboxes, so I see him regularly when I check my mail. His name is Rusty and he is a big, brown dog. I do not know his breed (not a pitbull I dont think) but he is quite big. He has the most prettiest mahogany colored eyes, white paws, and is in very terrible condition. He stays on a small porch no matter the weather, through the freezing winter and the blaze of the summer, that is how long I have been trying to help this poor baby. I say hello to him every time I see him and tell him I love him because I think he is extremely neglected and does not receive ANY type of love; no pets, no hugs, no kisses, NO attention AT ALL. When he barks, nobody listens. He is living a life that no dog should live. I am choosing to be Rusty's voice. The porch that he stays in is COVERED in pee and poop CONSTANTLY and from the looks of it, I think he might be eating his own poop. I am not sure. I have, often times, taken my own cat food over to him and fed him through the fence just to be sure that he is getting some type of food as there is no food or water bowl out on the porch that he stays on. A couple of months ago, I left a friendly note on the neihgbors door saying that I wouldn't mind coming over once a week to pick up the poop and give him a regular bath. He explained to me that the reason why "Rusty" is an outdoor dog is because he is being used for breeding, although they might fix him soon, but quickly became hostile with me and told me to stop peaking over his porch area and to leave his dog alone with some cuss words in between and felt threatening. Its hard to not pay attention to Rusty when I check my mail as the odor of feces REAKS from the corner of his building and other neighbors have said the same thing. We have complained to our apartment complex and they have done nothing. I reached out to 311 and they emailed me back saying I do have a case but that I am on a waitlist right now. I figured the only other thing that I can do, is post here to see what others think and if there was anyone wanting to find a better home for this baby, who would want to rehabilitate a dog who has ben neglected of proper food, water, affection, and walks, being able to live the life every dog deserves to live. I own a cat, and uh, yeah she wouldn't allow it. So, I am doing my best as a human being to take care of an animal that is not mine to be the voice for him that he does not have. It breaks my heart every time I walk away from him knowing that he is being neglected the way that he is, and there are so many people in the world, that, if I reached out in as many ways as possible, that, there maybe was a person out there that would be the perfect human for Rusty. Rusty needs you like you need him. I have more pictures to support my statements as evidence for his conditions for anyone who needs proof as I have been taking pictures of Rusty's conditions since AUGUST of 2021. And sorry that the photo is sideways. Its disturbing to see an animal in this condition but this is his reality and us as ABLE HUMANS can do something, so please help me. The current poop here in this photo has been like this since June 3rd and I am posting this on June 9th. My number is , call me or text me so we can talk about how to help Rusty.
