Description

Age: 40-60 Years Old Influenced By British Blues 1965-1969: Mick Fleetwood (Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac Era), John Bonham (First Zeppelin album), Ginger Baker (Cream era) Hughie Flint (Bluesbreakers era). Can you provide power like Bonham, swing and improvise like Baker, and shuffle like Fleetwood 1965 -1969? The band's arrangements are wide ranging needing skills such as Joe Morello's Take Five, Mick Fleetwood's 68' shuffle, John Bonham's powerful early bass drum work, boogie rhythm, and The Yardbirds rave ups. You must understand the British style of drummers cited and provide recordings of you playing in this style. Must be OK with the requirements of a power trio such as improvisation and understand that less is more sometimes. This is a band that puts the dirt and energy back into British blues so you must have the energy to be ready for those exciting demands. To continue and complete a power trio as per The Yardbirds, Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin One, Cream, John Mayall's Beano Bluesbreakers, Free. This group is for the love of the British Blues niche, not a paying gig! There is no money in music anymore and we don't want money to skew the band's aims. Getting the music out there is the main goal. Must have car and be able to rehearse in West LA on Friday evenings for 3-4 hours. The band released an all original album just prior to lockdown which has received much independent airplay in the UK as well as the BBC. Three independent blues stations in England named the album their Album Of The Year 2020. Also, independent broadcasters in the US have given the album critical acclaim. The band covers British Blues, British Blues rock, rockabilly, jazz and psychedelic jam elements. The band is moving back to playing these songs live (lock down deprived us of the chance to play the album live) plus a few covers performed our way, so I am looking for the right drummer to make this happen. The band aims to record a second all original album also after playing the first album live. If this sounds like something you may be interested in please contact me. In the words of independent broadcasters: "Hard, loud, rough, dirty, British blues. The more I listen to it, the more I love it! "Occasionally I get sent some music that just grabs you by the kahunas and really kicks you hard in your back side, and that is this band's music. One of the most exciting albums I've heard in 2020 and for many years".
