3 Teens Arrested After Historic Morrow Buildings Set On Fire: Reports

CLAYTON COUNTY, GA — Three teens are facing charges in connection to three historic Morrow buildings that were burned down last Friday, according to multiple reports. The homes were set on fire on Southlake Circle in "The District," reported WXIA-TV. One of the three houses was intentionally set on fire, and it spread to the other homes, according to investigators. A 15-year-old boy and two 14-year-old boys were arrested at their homes Wednesday night, reported WAGA-TV. All three were charged with arson, burglary, criminal interference with government property, criminal damage to property, and criminal trespass. All three teens were taken to the Regional Youth Detention Center. Despite facing four felony charges each, their names were not released due to their age, reported WAGA-TV. A joint investigation conducted by the Morrow Police Department, Morrow Fire Department, Georgia Insurance Fire and Safety Commissioner's Fire Investigation Unit, and the Atlanta office of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) ruled the cause of the fire to be arson, authorities said. There is a planned vigil at 9 a.m. Saturday in the "The District," which is a cluster of historic homes in downtown Morrow. It will be held at 1063 Olde Towne Morrow Road. The public is welcome to attend.
