Hawthorne House Nursing Home in Freeport, Maine is looking for individuals to join our maintenance crew! General Purpose The Maintenance Worker provides quality maintenance support to the facility and to our Residents; providing a safe and high-quality care environment. Responsibilities: Facility and equipment maintenance and repair. Will also work with vendors to complete necessary maintenance and repair. Involved with residents, associates, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc. under all conditions and circumstances Works throughout the facility (i.e., resident rooms, therapy rooms, dietary) and on the outside grounds (i.e. lawn care, snow removal). Inspect equipment /systems regularly for proper functioning and safety Run errands, handle incoming and outgoing freight, lift and move heavy furniture and equipment Prioritizes work based upon Resident and safety needs. Education and Experience: High school diploma (or equivalent) preferred. Minimum of one (1) year maintenance experience preferred, but not required. Proven knowledge of various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems preferred, but not required. Must be knowledgeable and/or able to learn the maintenance practices and procedures as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines governing maintenance functions in the long-term care facility Must be able to assist with preventive maintenance, repairs, and replacements APPLY NOW!
