Wanted: Mother Cat

My Mom always had a cat, with and without kitten(s), when I was growing up. I had a cat for two years when I was away at college and lived off-campus. My spouse and children are extremely allergic to cats so we never had one. I am now retired and live alone. I miss having one in the house. I would like the company of a mother cat to add some life - some more heartbeats - to my home. I am not terribly interested in a Sphinx, a Maine Coon, a Siamese, or a Bengal cat. I have heard those breeds can be unfriendly. (I don't know if that's true, though. Please tell me if your experience has been different.) In your email please include some information and photos.
