Hi. Thanks for looking. This is RG. I work with the Disaster Services Program of the Red Cross. Many of our clients have become homeless or are otherwise in need of assistance due to events such as home fires, tornadoes, etc. While we know that they need services, we are often unable to determine which types - primarily due to language barriers. Until we can communicate effectively, our clients may not have the resources they need to receive funds and services to obtain necessities. Currently, the Red Cross in Raleigh has only one interpreter. Due to the rising number of Spanish speaking clients, we are trying to locate additional volunteers. They will be able to decide where they would like to help – Disaster Services, Blood Services, Administration, Service to the Armed Forces, and/or several other programs. Should they be deployed during a major disaster, the Red Cross will pay for all their expenses. Please let me know if this is anything you or someone you know is interested in.
