Harvey L. Parks, Inc. Land Surveying, located in Chester, VA, is currently seeking a Full Time Instrument Operator/ Rodman. This position will be working with a Land Surveyor or Party Chief assisting in construction staking, ALTA, boundary, topographic, and mortgage surveys. Possibility of advancement to Party Chief in the future. Responsibilities: • Operate survey instruments such as total stations, data collectors, GPS, and other standard survey equipment to collect field data. • Ability to work in the outside elements of the field up to 100% of the time. • Required to remain standing for long periods of time during the day and walk long distances. • Set up, minor maintenance, and operation of all field survey equipment, vehicles, and supplies. • Perform other duties as assigned. • Ability to carry up to 50 lbs of equipment for short distances. Education/Professional Certifications and Experience: Associates, High school diploma or GED. • Minimum of 1-2 years in surveying field preferred, but not required. • Prior Instrument Operator, or Rodman experience (preferred).
