10AM-5PM: Wednesday, August 10th & Wednesday, August 17th Plein Air Landscape Painting in Oil This two-day workshop will cover the basics of creating a landscape painting from life. We will begin with small pencil sketches to help us design a painting using strong composition and value. We will then utilize a limited palette to create dynamic color that will add emotion and interest to our painting. Along the way we will review the necessary tools and techniques for plein air painting in oil so that you may develop your own approach. This course will help you simplify the process while adding drama to your paintings. You will leave class with a method for selecting your landscape and painting in any setting. Workshop will be taught in the open-air Bickford Pavilion near Artascope. $295 two-day workshop fee does not include materials. A list of recommended supplies can be emailed upon request. NOTE: COVID-19 protocols are in place for the safety of our teachers and students, including wearing masks while inside the studio to use the restroom.
