June is #MadeForKidsMonth and SAFY is joining in the fun with a series of special Informational Sessions in June through Cuyahoga County where creativity and utility will meet advocacy for all ages!
Join us at the Warrensville Heights Branch of Cuyahoga County Public Library on June 13th anytime during 4:30-7 PM and learn more about how you and your family can help children experiencing foster care in your area while learning a new life skill!
Lead Foster Parent Recruiter Lisa Barham has been sewing since she was a child and is looking forward to the chance to teach people of all ages some sewing basics such as simple mending, hand-sewn hems for dress clothes (perfect for kids with uniforms!), sewing patches, sewing buttons, and the basics of machine sewing.
Everyone is welcome- so bring those sewing projects that have you stumped, that craft kit someone gave your kid at Christmas that has you confused, those pants that are too long, those Scouts patches that need to be on the uniforms, or those clothes that you know can be mended but you're not sure how to do it! We'll have some basic sewing machines and supplies on hand to help you get started!
Refreshments will be provided.
All participants will be entered to win a brand new sewing machine perfect for all skill levels in a raffle on June 30th!
