No spiritual gifts, even revelatory gifts such as discernment and prophecy, come mature and fully developed. Training and mentoring is a Biblical concept. Training should provide a safe environment in which you can practice using your gift amongst other people who are on the same journey. ‘Do not neglect your gift… Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress.’ (1 Tim 4:14-15)
