Consolidated Engineering Labs (CEL) is currently seeking to hire a Materials Pick-up / Delivery driver based out of its office in Oahu, Hawaii. Consolidated Engineering Laboratories has been providing engineering and materials testing services to the construction industry since 1976. We view our role as helping the construction team achieve their objectives, which means a project built on time in accordance with the plans and specifications and with the quality intended by the design team. SUMMARY: Responsible for the pick up and delivery, loading and unloading of construction materials including, but not limited to concrete and masonry cylinders and prisms, reinforcing and/or structural steel, sample molds, equipment and documents. Position will include a fair amount of driving around the island. Company vehicle will be provided but knowledge of the island will prove to be useful. Position is an entry position into a career for special inspection. Full time position with benefits. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Deliver sample molds and equipment to construction jobsites • Pick up samples at construction jobsites and deliver them to the lab. • Pad, stack, and secure items in position on truck to prevent damage during shipment. • Load and unload construction materials or other items by hand or by use of hand truck or dolly. • Deliver and stack construction materials in laboratory areas for technicians. • Coordinate with Dispatch department on the pick up and delivery of materials, and communicate jobsite concerns with to Dispatch. • Responsible for helping to clean lab and maintaining truck, tools, and other equipment. • Assist with preparing samples for curing. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Must be of 21 years of age or older. • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. • Must be able and willing to lift &/or move up to 50 lbs. • Must pass physical & drug screen. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have the ability to follow directions. Must obey applicable laws and Company policies related to the position of Driver.
