MKE United, an initiative of Greater Milwaukee Committee, will host a placemaking community event with partners of Amani United and the Dominican Center. The event will offer a platform for residents to express themselves on social issues , provide access and connection to resource providers and similar mission-driven organizations, and the opportunity to design a communal art piece. All spaces of Moody Park will be activated to uplift the community by spreading positivity. This is a free and open to the public event. You can expect the following at this event: Moderated panel discussion featuring Alderman Khalif Rainey of the 7th District and Amani residents sharing perspective on the critical social issues, identifying ways to bring awareness and educate, and help with building solutions. Visit resource providers to learn more about holistic services from home ownership, mental health awareness, small business entrepreneurship, violence prevention and more. Each attendee will help create an art installation that will be a collective piece to envision what the future looks like for the Amani community.Enjoy food and live entertainment while connecting with other community members. This event is supported by MKE United's Community Leaders Committee, a collective partnership of resident leaders and nonprofit organizers representing the adjacent neighborhoods surrounding Downtown Milwaukee.
