Formations is a monthly music series curated by Jay Mollerskov, and dedicated to fostering the growth of new and improvised music in Milwaukee. Set 1: Jay Mollerskov and Jim Schoenecker, long-time improvising musicians in Milwaukee, will perform a set of electronic music using an array of synthesizers and analog tape loops. Set 2: Laminal Animil, a Madison-based trio consisting of Luke Leavitt (Fender Rhodes/Juno 106), Tim Russell (percussion and electronics), and Ari Smith (bass and percussion), utilizes improvisation to investigate emergent, complex social interactions in order to create and navigate new sonic landscapes.
