Description

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and President Abraham Lincoln stand as two giants, not only in American history but in the history of humanity. They rose as beacons of light in two of the darkest periods of history. They not only courageously illuminated the dark, horrible corners of injustice, but they also provided a path of hope and action to lead humans from the darkness of slavery and discrimination to the light of Christian love and equality. These original compositions, with chorus and orchestra, will appeal to experiences, emotions, and thoughts that are universal truths or conditions of humanity—love, hope, joy, sadness, anger, despair—the gamut of human expression. Join us for a celebration of these two American giants: Abraham Lincoln, who primarily addressed the evils of legal slavery, and Dr. King, who addressed the moral issues surrounding the injustice of discrimination prevalent even now in the 21st century.
