Sisters in Action Sports and Sturtevant's have come together to create the perfect SUP day. We'll be meeting at Beaver Lake, a beautiful and quiet lake on the Sammamish Plateau. It is a non-motorized lake, meaning NO boats. You can expect calm waters or light chop if there is wind. Sturtevant's will be providing paddleboards and safety equipment. SAS will bring the instruction, encouragement, and support to create a great session for you. If you have never tried SUP, or are just looking forward to a great time with a supportive group we want to encourage you to sign up. SAS's goal is to open the doors of opportunity and keep expenses low for women and girls. Event description/what to expect: Basic swimming skills are required. Children must be accompanied by a parent, have basic swimming skills, and wear life vest at all times. Parking: Beaver Lake requires a Discovery Pass We will provide a complete SUP package. Paddleboard, adjustable paddle, leash, PFD (personal flotation device), safety whistle. The paddleboards will be inflated when you arrive.Check in with your SAS leader and verify waiver.Paddle time: up to 2 hoursChoose your board, adjust your paddle, attach the leash, and set off on the lake for some fun.We are meeting on the BOAT LAUNCH side of the lake. Not at the park side. The address is for the Boat Launch. Beginners: check in with the SUP coach and start with basic SUP techniques and skills. Experienced: make sure you know the lake. Paddle with a friend, enjoy the lake. End of event: please be prepared to help deflate and roll up the paddleboards. This takes 5-10 minutes. Be prepared: water bottlesunscreensandals or footwear for water. Footwear while paddleboarding is not required.wear clothing you can stretch in. Depending on the weather; shorts, swimsuit, leggings, lightweight jacket.Helpful to have: hat, sunglasses, waterproof watch, dry bag or small backpack, snacks.
