COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — Rescuers on Wednesday pulled a person from the bottom of a 12-foot trench in Colorado Springs. The Colorado Springs Fire Department was called for a collapse and confined space rescue on the 5,200 block of Kissing Camels Drive. The public was asked to avoid the area as crews assessed the situation. Firefighters determined someone was at the bottom of a 12-foot trench. The person was injured, but stable, the fire department said. Around 12:15 p.m., crews successfully pulled the person out of the trench. The person, whose name wasn't immediately released, was taken to a hospital in stable condition. Photos posted on social media showed crews surrounding the trench and standing near a large dirt pile and building. This is a developing story. Hit refresh for updates.
