SUMMIT, NJ — This article was updated at 10:01 p.m. Voting polls have closed as of 8 p.m. in New Jersey, and votes are being tallied for the 2022 Primary Election. The vote tallies remain unofficial until they are certified later in June by the Union County Clerk's office. This year's primary in Summit is uncontested, as two council members are running for re-election unopposed. The two incumbents, Danny O'Sullivan and Lisa Allen, are running to retain their Ward 1 and Ward 2 seats respectively. The Summit Common Council consists of seven members. Each of the two wards has three representatives, and one member serves "at large." The ward seats carry three-year terms; the at-large seat is two years. Both O'Sullivan and Allen's terms are up this year. To read candidate profiles of the two council members, check out this voter guide created by Patch. Patch will update the results as they become available. Results are unofficial. Danny O'Sullivan (Democrat): 599Lisa Allen (Republican): 352
